Sixth Form Life
Sixth Form students work hard and have greater independence, privileges and responsibilities. They enjoy very close attention in small groups with specialist teachers, and are expected to use their non-contact time profitably. In addition to dedicated sixth form study rooms, students can take advantage of the school gym, multi gym and exercise machines.
We provide strong pastoral support with personal tutor time twice weekly and freely available access to teaching staff and support at all times.
There is always plenty going on at Ffynone House and Sixth Formers enjoy taking an active part in all aspects of school life. One of the school’s great strengths is its sense of community, and senior students are respected role models and mentors of younger pupils.
A wide range of stimulating external activities are organised to enhance learning and broaden horizons. In addition to curriculum based visits, these include attendance at conferences and career related opportunities.
Students represent the Ffynone House in the community with pride, and Sixth Formers are our senior ambassadors. Such opportunities also build confidence and provide valuable experience.
Sixth Form is also home to a fun and varied social life and down time is maximised. Our great location with Swansea Bay, Mumbles, Gower and the City Centre all within easy reach, ensures there is no shortage of things to do with friends.
Students organise sport and leisure activities and enjoy a discount on Tennis at Swansea Tennis Centre.
An annual highlight is the Summer ‘Prom’. This is always an enjoyable event to round off a hard-working year. Our leavers enjoy a celebration and bid a fond farewell, looking back on their time at Ffynone House with slide-shows and stories.
