From A levels and enrichment opportunities to further study and careers beyond, Ffynone Sixth Form students excel and enjoy themselves in a challenging, supportive environment.
An independent curriculum
Our students take A Levels, rather than the Welsh Baccalaureate. We believe it best serves our students to achieve qualifications that are immediately recognised by British and international universities. We’re keen to support students in pursuing their interests, passions, and talents. This is reflected in our broad range of subject choices.

A choice for the future
Ffynone House students gain outstanding results, and the majority are offered their first choice Russell group university places. We provide strong support with UCAS applications and interview practice with the school’s Senior Leadership Team and external admissions advisors.
- Most students get their first choice university place
- Strong UCAS support
- Interview practice with the SMT
Ffynone House students go on to enjoy success in all walks of life. We invite former Ffynonians to talk about university and their working lives, and we help students organise their university visits. Ffynone House students consistently perform well in mathematics and science, with many going on to study medicine, mathematics, science, and engineering.
“The quality of teaching is a particularly strong feature of the school’s work”… “[The] vision is based on shared values, where individuals matter within a culture of high aspirations and a determination to succeed.”
