“The school provides a high level of care, support and guidance, which contributes well to pupils’ health, wellbeing and learning.” Estyn Inspectors
We pride ourselves on maintaining this high standard of care and support. Form tutors have a daily responsibility for monitoring the welfare of their pupils, and our size and family atmosphere mean they get know their pupils well and can give individual attention to support their social and academic development. The Form Tutor can also act as a first point of contact with parents.

The Headteacher takes a close personal interest in every pupil, and parents and pupils know his door is always open should they have any difficulties or concerns.
Such support, along with our PSHE and guest speaker programmes, and the expert advice given to our Sixth Form students on career choice and university applications, provides a comprehensive pastoral care system for pupils throughout their time with us.
It is little wonder, given our excellent examination results and highly regarded pastoral care system, that pupils join Ffynone House throughout all year groups in addition to the usual start of secondary school in Year 7. It is also not surprising that we have an excellent retention record. Given our friendly family environment, and supportive, respectful ethos, very few people who join Ffynone want to leave.
