Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is one of the most popular personal development schemes for young people in the UK, and fits well with the Ffynone House programme of adventurous activities.
DofE broadens horizons, skills and friendships. Involvement is an enjoyable and rewarding journey where participants grow in confidence and become more independent. Achieving a DofE Award opens doors to education and employment opportunities for any young person.
Students volunteer in the community, get fit, learn new skills and go on character building expeditions. At the same time, they cement friendships, experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.
Our in-house staff deliver all the training necessary for participants to discover their own strengths and abilities which contribute to the successful completion of the Awards.
We take advantage of the beautiful Gower peninsula for lowland walking expeditions. The more demanding areas of Preseli, mid-Wales and the Brecon Beacons are also within easy reach.
‘DofE’ is usually one of the highlights of the pre-GCSE years. It develops independence, self-reliance, cooperation and leadership skills.Even more than that, it’s a great deal of fun!
