Inventive Year 8 pupil Harry so impressed staff at Jaguar Land Rover with his idea to improve the safety of one of their models that he has was given a VIP tour of the JLR plant in Warwickshire. Harry’s innovation for a Range Rover ‘nose out’ camera system to improve blind junction visibility was considered by the company’s directors as a potentially viable improvement.
Harry spent a day at JLR’s Warwickshire plant as their guest where he met Group Engineering Director Nick Rogers and other key management staff.
Headeacher Michael Boulding said Harry, whose ambition is to work for JLR one day, should be congratulated not only for his idea but also for having the confidence to contact the company directly.
“Harry is obviously an imaginative young student, and it was particularly impressive that he did something about it. Not only did he come up with the innovation, but he also had the initiative and enterprise to write with the idea,” said Mr Boulding.
“It is gratifying JLR responded, provided feedback and gave Harry the personalised tour of the company.”
