Ffynone House School is thrilled to share the findings of our recent Estyn inspection. As the first school to be inspected under the new Estyn framework, we are so pleased that above all else, the inspection team recognised that:

“There is a strong sense of community that pervades Ffynone House. Nearly all pupils are proud of their school. They thrive in the calm and engaging atmosphere and benefit from the inclusive, family ethos and the high levels of care and support they receive.”

With our mantra of ‘Every Individual Matters’ at the heart of all we do, it was of paramount importance that we showcased how much we care about the wellbeing and progress of each one of our students. We were delighted that the feedback from interviews with students and parents demonstrated that:

“Relationships between pupils across the school contribute extremely successfully to pupils’ self-belief, security and wellbeing. During their time at Ffynone pupils develop their personal, social and emotional skills assuredly.”

It was clear to the inspectors that,

“Both within and beyond the classroom, pupils of all ages interact positively and they look out for one another, with older pupils fostering strong supportive relationships with younger pupils.”

We know that students make greater progress and are more productive if they feel safe and valued. Estyn highlighted that:

“The supportive and constructive working relationships between teachers and pupils as well as teachers’ expertise and passion for their subjects contribute significantly to pupils’ progress in developing their knowledge, understanding and skills.”

If you would like to come and experience Ffynone’s unique learning environment as described by the Estyn inspection team, contact us at any time to arrange a visit.

We welcome enquiries from prospective students from Year Five through to Year Twelve and will be holding our sixth form open evening on January 23rd. Please visit our website for more information about the school. The full inspection report from Estyn can be read online here.
