Budding Year 9 engineer Kathryn will be taking part in a three-day residential programme at Cardiff University in July. This ‘Engineering Experience’ is an exciting introduction to the world of engineering and a great way to get a taste of university life. Organised by The Smallpeice Trust, the course enables students to work alongside companies including Cyber Security Challenge, First Group and Transport for London to analyse and design high-tech products.
“I’m looking forward to a hands-on approach to engineering and working with professionals to actually create a real product.” Kathryn told us.
For 50 years The Smallpeice Trust has organised inspiring, out-of-the-classroom lessons for young people interested in science, technology, engineering and maths.
Kathryn is determined to make engineering part of her future and we are thrilled she has taken this opportunity to explore her passion further. We look forward to hearing about her experience when she returns to school in September.
