Congratulations to Ffynone House School tennis players Elinor and Henry, who started their summer by notching up more success on the tennis courts.
Elinor won the Under 18s girls title in the Grade 3 Winchester Open, beating both the first and second seeds in the process. She won a solid silver cup, which has been presented since 1936, and which will be engraved with her name, along with a trophy to take home.
Henry reached three finals in the Penny Sinclair Open Grade 3 tournament in Oxford, narrowly losing the u14s singles on a third set tiebreak and was runner up in both the 14s and 16s doubles.
The pair have also added an international flavour to their tennis, both competing in their first International Tennis Federation competition. These tournaments are open to anyone in the world and attract a very strong standard of player.
