Personal and Social Education

P.S.E. is a planned programme of teaching and learning that promotes pupil's personal and social development and their health and well being. Work in P.S.E. helps to provide students with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead healthy, confident and independent lives. The programme of work aims to help them understand how they are developing personally and socially, and at the same time tackles moral, social, emotional and cultural issues that are all part of growing up.

The main aims of P.S.E. are to -

• develop self esteem and personal responsibility.
• promote self-respect and respect for others.
• develop positive relationships.
• equip students to live safe and healthy lives.
• foster positive attitudes towards school and learning.
• empower students to participate in their school and community as active, responsible citizens.
