Ffynone's got talent!
6th formers and pupils from Ffynone House School participated in a fundraising talent show, ‘Mr X Factor’ in aid of the local Mr X Appeal recently. The event was devised, promoted and managed by pupils from the 6th form of the school and they raised over £650 for the charity.
Almost the entire school were present to witness a wealth of musical and performance talent take to the stage. Even some of the teachers had a go with a staff band which included a maths teacher on guitar and a French teacher on Sax!
Raffle prizes were on offer from several local businesses including Pizza Express, China China, Eddie Rocket’s, Chiquito’s, Subway , Vue Cinema, Thorntons, and Waterstones.
Head of the School, Nicola Walker commented, “I would like to extend my thanks to all the local businesses that supported this very worthy fundraising event. The sixth form produced a spectacular show and it is a testament to their vision and commitment that they can focus on fundraising for deserving causes such as the Mr X Appeal whilst studying for their A Levels.”
The Mr X Factor Charity Evening is an annual fundraising event organised by sixth formers in Ffynone House School. Money raised from the event is donated to the Mr X Appeal which is administered by the council in Swansea to enable disadvantaged children from across West Wales to receive a special gift from Santa.
The Mr X Factor event was held just two weeks before the premier of Ffynone House School’s new drama performance ‘Easy Street’ which examines homelessness which is performed on the 18th and 19th November. Tickets for this performance are available from the school on 01792 464967 and further details are available on the website www.ffynonehouseschool.co.uk
