Oakleigh and Ffynone Open House
Swansea’s premier independent preparatory and senior schools are opening their doors to the public on Sunday 12th September as part of the Open House Weekend. Oakleigh House and Ffynone House Schools in Uplands are offering members of the public the opportunity to tour the schools, learn their history and gain an insight into the work they do today.
Each school is offering two tours on the Sunday afternoon. In Ffynone House School, the tours will be led by the Headteacher Mrs Walker. At Oakleigh House School the tours will be led by recently retired teacher Lynette Dodds who has been involved with the School for over 20 years.
Head of Oakleigh House School Rhian Ferriman stated, “This is a great opportunity to let members of the public have a look around the school and see how children are taught today in a modern preparatory school”.
Head of Ffynone House School Nicola Walker added, “The Ffynone House School building has been a school since 1887 and has a fascinating history. We look forward to welcoming members of the community into the school”.
The tours, which are free, need to be booked at each school. To confirm a place at Oakleigh House School please call (01792) 298537. To confirm a place at Ffynone House School, please call (01792) 474967.
