Ffynone Fundraising successes

It’s been a busy time for pupils in Ffynone House School who have fundraised for several different causes over the last three months. Charities as diverse as Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice, Oxfam and the Haiti appeal have benefitted from the endeavours of pupils at the school.

Ty Hafan Chocolate Sale

On St David’s Day the school raised £200 for Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice helped by Head Girl Josie Palmer organizing a chocolate sale, pupils wearing Welsh rugby tops and a collection.

Haiti Appeal

Amelia Kidwell from Year 12 organised a non school uniform day for the people of Haiti affected by the devestating earthquake in January. The £320 raised was given to the Disasters Emergency Committee.

Year 9 Oxfam success

Year 9 girls recently raised over £183.42 for Oxfam by selling sweets to fellow pupils. They will be using their contribution to buying livestock and much needed tools for poverty stricken areas across the world.

Head of the school Nicola Walker commented, “Pupils in Ffynone are always eager to help charities across the UK and the World. As well as these most recent fundraising efforts there have been donations to local charity the Cyrenians and to larger events such as ‘Jeans for Genes’ Day. Well done to all our pupils who have put so much of their own time and effort into these events!”.
