My Ffynone House Sixth Form
Eric Antunes, the Head Boy of Ffynone House School explains why he chose to stay on at Ffynone to do his A Levels.
My Sixth Form by Eric Antunes (Head Boy 2010-11)I wanted to be Head Boy because the school has opened so many doors for me and helped me when I needed it most. In achieving Head Boy I saw it as a chance to help fellow pupils and to help the school. Previously coming from a state primary, I realised that the individual attention and support that I receive here cannot be met by any other education centre in Swansea – but more importantly the sixth form banter persuaded me to stay! I realised it was the best choice to make, especially around exam time. Speaking to friends who have left, the miss the ‘ffynone way’, so when I compare both I know I made the right decision. [As Head Boy] I have helped in many ways, whether it just be talking about certain problems, to helping out with things other pupils are doing – and obviously, my humour could cheer anyone up! The school dinners are actually pretty good! They have improved recently; the cooks are really outgoing and have sprung new life into the food and the refectory. I am taking Physics, Biology Chemistry and Maths. I’ve always been interested in science, so hopefully I’ll go into medicine and then surgery. I’m also really interested in the brain so maybe I could fit a bit of neuroscience in there too? |
