Latin at Ffynone House School in Swansea

Pupils use an introductory course called Minimus in their first year and learn Latin through a series of cartoon stories. After a few lessons they are able to make simple birthday cards/ invitations in Latin, and games using nouns and adjectives. Pupils are encouraged to make connections between Latin and English. We also study the Greek myths.

In their second year, students move on to the Cambridge Latin Course. As part of the course we visit Sorrento in southern Italy so that we can explore Pompeii, Vesuvius and Herculaneum for ourselves.
