LAMDA success at Ffynone House Independent School Swansea
LAMDA courses at Ffynone House School
At Ffynone House School in Swansea, LAMDA examinations have been offered as an extra curricular option for more than 20 years. E
ach year we hold two examination centres at school and the whole range of examinations has been offered from The Speaking of Verse and Prose, Public Speaking, Acting, Mime or Devised Performance to Reading for Performance, group work and the relatively new Musical Theatre.
Our results are always good, a testament to the hard work and especially the enjoyment of the pupils who undertake these exams. Our outgoing Head Boy, Dominic Thomas James set a fine example by gaining his Speaking of Verse and Prose Gold Medal and his Public Speaking Gold Medal, both with Distinction.
Over the past year, the following pupils have received congratulations for gaining special awards over and above their individual examinations:
LAMDA Foundation Communication Award
Kate Rowe, Ben Francis, Emma Breach, Jack Palmer, Simon Morgan
LAMDA Intermediate Communication Award
Hannah Francis, Demi Rodriguez, Steffanie Winsor
LAMDA Intermediate Performance Award
Sophie Cuttiford, Sophie David
Our LAMDA teachers, Mrs Eleanor McLeod and Mrs Elaine Sullivan, welcome any enquiries that parents may have about the LAMDA syllabus. Mrs McLeod is a member of the LAMDA examining board and has recently been honoured by having two of her original poems and one dramatic scene included in the new LAMDA Anthologies which contain the set pieces for the new examination period which begins in September 2009.
Pupils often inform us about feedback they have received in University interviews or vocational placements where their LAMDA achievements have been noted and recognised.
Well done to everyone who has done so well in their LAMDA examinations this year!
