Fundraising in Ffynone
Ffynone House pupils participate in charitable fundraising activities throughout the year. From Jeans for Genes, pasta collections and responsive appeals to natural disasters over the last few years pupils have raised thousands of pounds for deserving causes.
Recently, charities as diverse as Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice, Oxfam and the Haiti appeal have benefitted from the endeavours of children at the school.
On St David’s Day the school raised £200 for Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice Hospice helped by Head Girl Josie Palmer organizing a chocolate sale, pupils wearing Welsh rugby tops and a collection.
Amelia Kidwell from Year 12 organised a non school uniform day for the people of Haiti affected by the devestating earthquake in January. The £320 raised was given to the Disasters Emergency Committee.
Year 9 girls recently raised over £183.42 for Oxfam by selling sweets to fellow pupils. They will be using their contribution to buying livestock and much needed tools for poverty stricken areas across the world.
