Football Match Report 8-Nov-16
Final Score: 5-1
After an early offensive period by St Michael’s, Ffynone House soon found their feet with Lewis assisting Saadiq in scoring their first goal from a corner kick. Soon after, Rikuya released a powerful throw-in which was picked up by Saadiq, passed to Lewis and on to Sam in order for Saadiq to score his second successful goal of the game so far: 2-0.
A spectacular penalty shot from St Michael’s resulted in an impressive goal from their striker as the ball skimmed the heads of the boys in the wall and narrowly avoided the reaching hands of Ferdous in the Ffynone House goal. It was now 2-1 with everything to play for.
After some back-and-forth action in both halves, with Ujair providing the majority of the linking play, Lewis broke through St. Michael’s solid defence and made it 3-1, despite an admirable attempted save by the St Michael’s keeper. The away side continued to test the home defence with multiple attacks on goal, but in the end it was the partnership of Saadiq and Lewis that again found the back of the net at the other end of the pitch.
Jacob from Ffynone House finished the first half in style with a spectacular goal to make it 5-1. There were plenty of attacks from both sides in the second half, but the St Michael’s defence proved to be impenetrable. The game finished 5-1 and we look forward to a rematch after Christmas.
