Drama at Ffynone House School in Uplands Swansea

Drama is available throughout Ffynone House School and also serves its role as an extra-curricular activity through school productions and similar events.

Pupils develop skills related to:

• Mime & Movement
• Roleplay
• Voice and vocal expression
• Playing a character
• Dialogue & Monologue
• Improvisation
• Text and Genres
• Devising their own pieces of work
• Writing Scripts
• Group work skills

These skills are developed through topics as well as through Drama Games and productions. Sample topics include Pantomime (Year 7); Greek Theatre (Year 8); Murder Mystery (Year 9)

At GCSE we follow the Edexcel Drama course and study texts including Blood Brothers; Memory of Water & Bouncers. We also do coursework related to themes such as Terror in Society, War and Body Image.
