Chemistry
Following the GCSE Chemistry course encourages learners to be inspired, motivated and challenged by following a broad, coherent, practical, enjoyable and worthwhile course of study. It should provide insight into and experience of how science works, stimulating learners' curiosity and encouraging them to engage with science in their everyday lives and to make informed choices about further study and about career choices.
In the new GCSE chemistry the specification is divided into 3 units, C1, C2 and C3 which are assessed externally, and an internally assessed controlled assessment.
Chemistry 1: The Earth and its resources
Chemistry 2: Atoms, bonding and chemical change
Chemistry 3: The chemical industry and analysis
Chemistry Controlled Assessment: Investigation
