GCSE Results
2011 Ffynone House School GCSE results
Pupils in 2011 continued to achieve outstanding GCSE results with 100% pass rate and 97% of the grades awarded were A*-C, compared with 69% nationally. A number of pupils achieved A* and A across the board, in fact 50% of grades achieved were A* and A compared with 16% nationally.
A particular mention to Chemistry, German. Latin and Additional Maths where students all gained a grade B or above, with the majority at A and A*.
A number of Year 10 students took GCSEs a year early, with excellent results:
Mathematics: Charlotte Werner, Ben Francis, Katie Watkins, Tomoya Awata
Statistics: Charlotte Werner, Ben Francis, Katie Watkins, Freya Koutsoubelis, Ben Jones
Japanese: Tomoya Awata
All Year 10 students sat GCSE modules this summer with very impressive results. I am sure they will continue to build on this in Year 11.
Whilst examination success is not the only important outcome of a child’s education, it is often the measure which most influences a child’s next step when it comes to further education or job seeking. In today’s world, where funding for university places is reducing, and increasing numbers of pupils are vying for the available places and access to the most popular courses, pupils that leave school with excellent GCSE and A Level results under their belts certainly have that extra advantage.
Take a look at how our GCSE and A Level results compare to the schools within the state sector.
