2011 Results

Another great year for Ffynone students - congratulations to all of them. Their hard work and determination to succeed has ensured that they have all achieved a University place of their choice. We wish them well and hope they will keep in touch. Of the grades achieved this summer 86% were A*-C. This level of achievement has been a consistent feature at Ffynone with 88% in 2010 and 87% in 2008. Whilst all subjects did well particularly successfui were Chemistry, English adn History where all grades were B or above.

Josie Palmer celebrates her A Level results before going to Swansea University to study Psychology            A special mention to Amelia Kidwell who gained an A* in Art along with A grades in Biology and Chemistry. Our Year 12 students also worked hard to achieve really impressive AS results. These bode well for the A level results in 2012

Sophie Cuttiford celebrates 9A* grades and 1A at GCSE

Whilst examination success is not the only important outcome of a pupil's education, it is often the measure which most influences a the next step when it comes to further education or job seeking.

In today’s world, where funding for university places is reducing, and increasing numbers of  pupils are vying for the available places and access to the most popular courses, pupils that leave school with excellent GCSE and A Level results under their belts certainly have that extra advantage.

Take a look at how our A Level results compare to the schools within the state sector.
