Oxford & Cambridge conferences

Year 12 students Caitlin and Jordan were selected to attend the Prestigious Dicey Conference at Oxford University on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th March, an event which debated whether British democracy was ripe for reform. Fellow Sixth Formers Adam and Caitlin were also invited to attend the inaugural Rosalind Franklin Conference at Newnham College, Cambridge on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th April, the subject up for discussion being ‘Cyber Security: Nothing to Hide, Nothing to Fear?’.

Mr Boulding explained “The McWhirter Foundation Conferences inspire young people to debate issues that sit at the centre of society, so we were delighted to be one of only a selection of schools and colleges invited by the foundation to attend”.

The students all agreed their enjoyable conference visits had been invaluable experience.
